Beliefs

Church Confession of Faith.

We believe in:

1. The Holy Scriptures
The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as originally given, as the inspired and infallible and inerrant Word of God, and as the sole, supreme, and all-sufficient authority in every matter of Christian faith and practice.

2. The Trinity
One living and true God, Sovereign in creation, providence and redemption, subsisting in three Persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — the same in essence, and equal in wisdom, power and glory.

3. The Lord Jesus Christ
The Eternal Sonship and the essential, absolute, and eternal Deity, and true and sinless humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin birth, death, and burial; His physical resurrection and ascension into heaven, His present priestly and authoritative intercession for his people at the right hand of the Father and His coming again in power and glory.

4. The Holy Spirit
The Personality and Deity of the Holy Spirit, through Whom the sinner is born again to saving repentance and faith, and by Whose indwelling the saints are sanctified, and empowered for worship, service and mission through the truth.

5. The Origin, Fallen State and Destiny of Man
The creation of Adam and Eve on the sixth day in the image of God. The fall of mankind in Adam, by which they have totally lost their original righteousness and holiness, and have come under the righteous condemnation of God and are in absolute need of the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit for salvation. The resurrection of the body; the judgment of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ, with the eternal conscious blessedness of the righteous and the eternal conscious punishment of the wicked

6. Salvation
The free offer of salvation to all men. The command to all to repent and believe the good news of the gospel. The justification of sinners by faith alone, through the atoning death and resurrection and imputed righteousness of Christ. The spiritual union of Christ and each believer and adoption as Children of God.
The eternal security of each true believer as chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world.

7. The Church
The universal Church as the body of Christ made up of all who truly believe in the Lord Jesus.  The Church visible as local churches, which are congregations of believers who are committed to each other for the worship of God, the preaching of the Word, pastoral care and discipline, evangelism and the ordinances of believers-baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The duty and privilege of not forsaking the regular weekly assembling of ourselves together. The duty to pray for the church and its ministry, for our nation, for the building of the Kingdom of God and for ourselves. The duty to study the scriptures. The duty to guard the unity of the church and joyful fellowship. The duties of love to God and man.

Adherence to the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith.
We adhere to these confessions ( The London Baptist Confession, 1689) not as an authoritative rule, or code of faith, whereby we are fettered, but as an assistance to us in controversy, a confirmation in faith, and as a means of edification in righteousness.
Here younger members of our church will have a body of divinity in small compass, and by means of the scriptural proofs, will be ready to give a reason for the hope that is in them.
We endeavour not to be ashamed of our faith remembering it is the ancient gospel of martyrs, confessors, reformers and saints. Above all it is the truth of God against which the gates of Hell cannot prevail.
We endeavour to let our lives adorn our faith, to let our example adorn our creed. Above all to live in Christ Jesus, and to walk in Him, giving our credence to no teaching but that which is manifestly approved of Him, and owned by the Holy Spirit.
We will endeavour to cleave fast to the Word of God which is here mapped out for us.
